Class Overview
Project: Katahdin Tote
Skill Level: Advanced beginner
Class Length Options:
2 Sessions (3–3.5 hours each)
Techniques Covered:
Quilting with foam interfacing
- Installing zippers
- Creating structured bags
- Working with linings and pockets
Supply List (Students Bring)
Fabrics:
- Exterior fabric: 1 yard (canvas, cotton, or lightweight denim)
- Lining fabric: 1 yard quilting cotton
- Accent fabric (optional): ½ yard
Notions:
- Pattern: Katahdin Tote pattern by Noodlehead
- Foam interfacing (e.g., Soft & Stable): 1 yard
- Zipper: 18” (or per pattern size)
- Thread (matching + neutral)
- Wonder clips or pins
Tools:
- Sewing machine (must know how to use it)
- Rotary cutter + mat
- Quilting ruler
- Fabric scissors
- Marking tool
