Beginning Spinning
We are lucky to have local spinner Sherry Roberts of NRV Dyeworks (formerly Two Siberians Fiber Arts) come sit and spin with us for a day on Local Yarn Store Day. As a part of her visit, she is holding a couple of classes on beginner spinning with a drop spindle. If you have ever wanted to try spinning, but didn't want to spend a fortune on a spinning wheel, or you just didn't know where to start, this is the perfect class to try.
The class fee of $50 includes a kit, plus one hour of instruction. The kit includes one nicely-balanced natural finish, wooden top-whorl drop spindle, 2 oz of 21 micron fine Merino roving and 1 oz hand-carded art batt in your choice of available colors. The batts are 50% natural alpaca, 30% wool and 20% hand-dyed nylon with a sprinkle of silk and/or Firestar for shine.
