Backwards Knitting, Or How to Purl Without Turning Your Work

Many knitters who learned to knit using the English/European/throwing style of knitting with their right hand often find the purl stitch to be much slower. This class aims to teach those knitters how to knit backwards - OR - purl without turning your work around. Once you have the hang of this technique, you will be able to fly through stockinette stitch much faster.

If we have time at the end of class, we can also show you how to purl backwards, which is very helpful for many patterns that want the first and last few few stitches in garter with the remaining stitches in stockinette.

This is an intermediate/advanced method, and students should already be very comfortable with both knitting and purling.

Please bring some needles and spare yarn that you are comfortable with using, preferably in a light color to make seeing stitches easier.
